Requirements for Social Rate in Electricity Power


According to Item 6 of the State Budget Law, beyond the automatic attribution of the Social Tariff to customers, it can also be addressed to traders in liberalized market, by filling in the social rate application form:

“Without prejudice to what is stated in the preceding paragraphs, the beneficiary, along with social security institutions, relevant authorities and the Tax and Customs Authority; may require a proof of his/her status as beneficiary to submit it to the electricity power and natural gas supplier.”


¿Who can ask for the Electricity power Social Rate?

All customers who are in a situation of socioeconomic deprivation and who are beneficiaries of one of the following benefits:

  • Solidarity supplement for the elderly
  • Social integration income
  • Social unemployment benefits
  • Family payment
  • Elderly social pension
  • Social disability pension

Individuals who have an annual yield less than the maximum annual yield (RAM) are also eligible, considering the total performance verified in the power supply contract holder´s legal address, as well as the number of cohabitants who have no income.

 

The RAM currently has the following values:

1 inhabitant 5.808 euros
2 inhabitant 8.712 euros
3 inhabitant 11.616 euros
4 inhabitant 14.520 euros
5 inhabitant 17.424 euros
6 inhabitant 20.328 euros
7 inhabitant 23.232 euros
8 inhabitant 26.136 euros
9 inhabitant 29.040 euros
10 inhabitant 31.944 euros

For the application of the electricity power social rate electricity the following conditions must exist:

  • The permanent hired electricity power in your residence is less than or equal to 6,9kVA.
  • Be the electricity power contract holder and agree that consumption will be solely for domestic use in the current address.

Requirements for Social Rate in Natural Gas:


According to Item 6 of the State Budget Law, beyond the automatic attribution of the Social Tariff to customers, it can also be addressed to traders in liberalized market, by filling in the the social rate application form:

“Without prejudice to what is stated in the preceding paragraphs, the beneficiary, along with social security institutions, relevant authorities and the Tax and Customs Authority; may require a proof of his/her status as beneficiary to submit it to the electricity power and natural gas supplier.”


¿Who can ask for the Electricity power Social Rate?

All customers who are in a situation of socioeconomic deprivation proved by Social Security and who are beneficiaries of one of the following benefits:

  • Solidarity supplement for the elderly
  • Social integration income
  • Social Unemployment benefits
  • 1st step of Family payment
  • Disability social pension

For the application of the natural gas social rate electricity the following conditions must exist:

  • Be the contract holder of natural gas supply.
  • The natural gas consumption will be solely for domestic use in the current address.
  • The installation must be supplied at low pressure, with a hired power of no more than 500m3 (Steps 1 or 2).

Application procedure

 

Beyond the automatic allocation of the Social Rate, the beneficiary may require a proof of his/her status as beneficiary to social security institutions, relevant authorities and the Tax and Customs Authority; to submit it to the electricity power and natural gas supplier.
